Mrs. Myers
April Showers Bring May Flowers!!!!

I am so excited for spring because it is one of my favorite seasons.

Before break we had our STEM fair. All of students who participated got a green participation ribbon. The boards looked great and the students did a wonderful job. And our winner is Pheben from Mrs. Baugher's homeroom. Congratulations!

Since we have been back from Spring Break and working so hard on MSA! The students have been giving it their all.

Please take a look at our busy calendar. There are field trips this month and a lot going on in general.

With the weather becoming warm please remember that we are still in school and all 5th grade has homework. We know schedules become busy with baseball practices and other sports. Please encourage your child to complete their homework every night and to get a good night sleep.

Happy Spring!

Welcome to Mrs. Myers' Website
****HOMEWORK****

All fifth graders will have homework Monday-Thursday in reading, spelling, vocabulary and math! Sometimes they may have an assignment for english, social studies or science. All 5th graders are given time during homeroom and each class to copy their homework down in their planner. This should be coming home each and every night. When there is a SNOW DAY homework is due the VERY NEXT DAY WE RETURN TO SCHOOL!

Also, it is up to your child to request make up work when they are absent. Please encourage your child to complete all homework assignments and to request make up work.

Please encourage your child to read each night. They can read anything from a book, a magazine, a recipe or even the comics! Reading is everywhere. They can even read the signs on the road while on a car ride! After your child reads ask them to summarize what they read to you in their own words. This will help them with their understanding of what they read. We have a school wide reading incentive again this school year. Each class will be earning ice cream scoops each month for the most books read. Please sign your child's calendar each night after they have read for a minimum of 20 minutes.
