It is hard to believe that it is already the New Year. We are looking foward to the new beginnings and new successes that the new year may bring. Each week we continue to work on a new letter of the alphabet and beginning sounds. During morning circle the children get an opportunity to pull an object from a bag that begins with the letter of the week and then we discuss the beginning sound of that object. For table activity we typically due art projects that correspond to the letter of the week. During math we continue to work on 1:1 correspondence, counting quantities, shape/ color identification, measurement concepts (big/ little, long/ short), sorting by categories, extending patterns, and calendar concepts. |
