Homework will be assigned Monday- Thursday evenings. All assignments should be written in your planner. Be sure to take your planner home each evening so you know what homework is to be completed! We're asking parents to initial the planner each evening to be sure students are prepared for the next school day.
In second grade,homework should last an average of 30 minutes (BCPS Homework Policy). Students should be reading every night and nightly reading practice is included in this time.
Please check to see that your student has completed his/her homework nightly.
Thursday Folders
Student work and other notices will be distributed on Thursdays by means of a Thursday folder. Students are to share their work and folder with parents/guardians on Thursday evenings. Parents are asked to sign the folders weekly and return it to school on Friday with your student. From time to time, your child's teacher and/or your child may write comments in the comment section. Feel free to do the same if you have questions or concerns.
Book- It!: Book-It will begin in October. We will complete monthly book projects to earn Book- It coupons. |
