The Importance of Writing in Science:
Writing a Report
To put it simply, writing is communication. Scientists use writing to obtain grants to fund their research, when recording laboratory data, completing laboratory reports, or when copying field notes. Finally, their research is published in a professional journal which will then reviewed by their peers.

Bibliography:
Bibliography

You finally finished your research! Now it is time to identify your sources. This means that you must identify the articles, journals, magazines, or internet sites you used to complete your research. When you identify these sources, you are giving credit to the aurthor for their ideas, writing, and reseach. If you do not identify your sources, you are indicating that the information and ideas presented in your paper are entirely your own. Plagiarism is defined as "Using ideas, plots, text and other intellectual property developed by someone else while claiming it is your original work." Any paper that is turned in without a proper bibliography will not be graded and the overall grade will drop one letter grade per day (not per class) until proper credit is given.
