What can you do to get a higher grade on a test or quiz?
Follow a few of these suggestions
Email Ms. Yelito if you have questions
Create Flash Cards of vocabulary words or key terms
Set up a “Study Space”. This should be a place where you feel comfortable sitting for a long period of time. This space should be well lit and free from distractions.
Have a friend quiz you on information… here is you excuse to use Instant Messenger or call each other over the phone.
Walk around the room as you are reading your notes. Sometimes walking around and getting your blood flowing, will help you remember information. Also chew gum as you study
Use a stress ball in your hand to help you focus and keep your fingers busy as you read your notes and review information
Make a study schedule and stick to it! Study your notes every night and review information. The more often you study it, the better you will remember the information
STAY ORGANIZED! Keep a table of contents for your binder section. This way you have all the info to study for the quiz.
Complete review sheets. If given the chance to complete it, do it… this way you know exactly what to study!
Always complete your homework, this will help you to learn the material and master the material that will be on the test. Also, do the Daily DRILL questions, they may just appear later on a quiz or test!
Ask questions on things you do not understand. Your teachers are here to help.
Take short breaks frequently, you memory retains the information that you study at the beginning and the end better than what you study in the middle.
Listening to relaxing music such as classical or jazz on a low volume can relieve some of the boredom of studying. If the music is distracting, then study in silence.
