In order to be prepared for class and ready to learn each day, you will need the following items with you everyday.
School Supplies: ~pencils ~colored pen (red, green, or purple) ~highlighter ~dividers (for binder) ~separate 1 or 1.5 inch binder ~Optional: colored pencils, ruler, scissors, glue, whiteout (All will be available in the classroom) ~Extra Credit: paper towels, baby wipes, kleenex, hand soap (very useful items in a science classroom) - Extra credit items may be brought in anytime in August and September. |

~ Set up binder by FRIDAY!!! ~ Return signed parent letter (a parent keeps the letter, bring back only the last page) - Both parent and student letters can be printed from the class documents page! ~ Bring in kleenex, paper towels, and/or baby wipes (Extra Credit - not mandatory) ~ Homeroom (period 1) - bring back homeroom papers ASAP..this is the 2 blue emergency cards, the green additional numbers form, and the pink medicine form. A packet of papers including these items, as well as transportation information and lunch information was given out today in period 1 classes. Students in my period 1 were also given a folder, which can be their homeroom papers folder.
***FYI... The 6th grade EES magnet field trip is scheduled for October 13-17 (tentative date, until approved by administration). This is a week-long, overnight environmental science adventure camp!!! Parent chaperones are needed!!!!! A parent meeting will be help one evening in September to dicuss the field trip (date TBA). More details coming soon!!! If you want to learn more information about the upcoming field trip, check out the website: www.northbayadventure.com. Also, forms can be downloaded from the class documents page (thse will be given out in class too). Information will be given out to students sometime after the first week of school and will be dicussed for students during class time and for parents at the parent meeting. Plan to make a doctors visit for the paperwork (for medicine)!!! This is for any medicine that the child is taking (prescription, over-the-counter, inhalers, vitamens, lotions, etc.) and any medicine you want to send "just-in-case" the student would need it. A separate NorthBay medicine form MUST be filled out for each medicine. Read the forms carefully! More details to come soon! |

We went over the student letter yesterday and today in class. ~ Bring in kleenex, paper towels, and/or baby wipes (Extra Credit - not mandatory) ~ Homeroom (period 1) - bring back homeroom papers ASAP..this is the 2 blue emergency cards, the green additional numbers form, and the pink medicine form, the PTA signup form (if interested), transfer forms ( 2 white sheets given out prior to the start of school) and any other form that needs to be turned in to the school. The PTA form was the homeroom paper given out today in period 1. |

~ Autobiography: part 2 - due Thursday ~ Binder check Tuesday - just to see if you have it set up correctly ~ Have a parent sign the agenda IF they reciecved the EES Update - welcome email. If they did not receive the email, have them email me! ~ HOMEROOM (Period 1): Information about "Back-to-school night" went home today, along with a "looking ahead" calendar. Parents - your child should have a homeroom folder from me and should be giving homeroom papers to you any time they are given out in class. Back to school night is Wednesday - be sure to bring the flyer with your childs schedule on it! ~ Optional: ~ Bring in kleenex, paper towels, and/or baby wipes (Extra Credit - not mandatory). Due September 25th.

Due September 25th. ~ NOTE: For any parent who was unable to make it to back-to-school night, I will put my powerpoint on the class documents page, incase you are interested in taking a look at it.
If Interested: ***Tree Planting Event: Select Saturday mornings – earn extra credit for EES magnet (this class) and service learning hours too. Pick up a flyer from Mrs. Frank!!! (given out today to interested students) Flyer also can be printed from the class documents page. Mrs. Frank will be attending the Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 plantings at Loch Raven Reservoir. An email is typically mailed to me before each GVC event, yet you can contact Peggy Perry, Program Director of Education and Restoration of the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy at 410-668-011 if you need more information.
***Student Council Club: First meeting: Wednesday, September 10th from 7:30 - 8:20 AM in room 229 – pick up a permission slip outside of room 229 (use these for every meeting). Teacher in charge is the 7th grade environmental science teacher, Ms Giesler. The club meets before school on selected Wednesday mornings. Some chances to earn service learning hours. Purpose is to plan and carry out activities for the student body of Sudbrook, and help the community.
***Green Team: Recycle Club: First meeting: TBA from 3 to 3:30 in room 222 (date is going to be changed from original date) – bring a note from a parent. Teacher in charge is the Earth science teacher, Ms McCauley. Earn service learning hours – the more you participate, the more hours you earn! Club meets any morning you can attend from 8:00 to 8:20. Purpose is to recycle in the school!!!
***For more clubs and activities, listen carefully to the announcements or see the schools website! Last year we had a chess club, math "24" club, blacksaga club, and science club - generation scientist.
