About the Teacher
My name is Amber Gaede, and I am looking forward to working with your child this school year. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Villa Julie College, and then earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Childhood Education, and a Masters in Special Education. I have been teaching for fifteen years, eight of them have been in Pre-Kindergarten.
About The Program
Your child will be part of the Open Court Reading Program. This program is used countywide in grades Pre-K through Second Grade. This is a research based program that uses a multi-sensory approach to teach phonemic awareness skills, as well as letters and words.
We also use the MacGraw Hill Math program. This hands-on mathematics program uses a literature connection to promote understanding of math skills. Positional concepts, shapes, numbers, and basic addition are a few of the skills taught in the program.
