I am thrilled to be teaching instrumental music at Woodholme Elementary School again this year. This is my fifth year at Woodholme and my tenth year teaching music in Baltimore County.
All fourth grade students will have the exciting opportunity to experience instruments through exploratory music. This class will focus on learning the basic skills needed to play the clarinet, trumpet and violin. Students will learn about the woodwind, brass and string families of instruments in addition to performing.
All fifth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in the band or orchestra. Students who choose to participate in this activity will attend a lesson once per week for 30 minutes. Additionally, the band and orchestra will meet as a full group every other week for approximately 45 minutes. The band and orchestra will perform in the spring concert on May 25, 2010. Other performance opportunities may become available throughout the school year. |
