Picking book
Miss Johnson joined the Middlesex Elementary staff last year as the library media specialist. During the school year, students from Kindergarten to fifth grade attend library class once a week. In library class, they learn about book care, library organization, research skills, literary appreciation, and much more. They check out books, too.

Some of this year's exciting library class adventures will include:
* Investigating the disappearance of 100+ colonists from Roanoke Island
* Gathering information about and voting for the presidential candidates
* Traveling back in time to meet baseball legend Satchel Paige
* Writing, illustrating, and making books
* Comparing classic fables to a modern version set in an elementary school
* Voting for our favorite picture and chapter books in the Maryland Black-Eyed Susan Book Award Program
