Let your children see YOU reading!
Read TO your children, whether they are in grade K or 5.
Read WITH your child. You read a page and they read the next.
Make sure homework is complete each night. This reinforces what your child learned in school that day.
Limit video games and t.v. time - children only become better readers if they practice....and if you turn off the tv, you may find that more reading happens and board games that require some reading reappear.
