It is a pleasure to teach Kindergarten for the 2007-2008 school year. I am very excited to be working with your child. I graduated Towson University with my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I am currently getting my masters in Reading through Towson University.
Our school wide behavior management system distributes Mustang Money or tickets for those students that make good choices. At the end of the week, the students count all their money or tickets, and the student with the highest will choose a prize from my treasure box.
We will be identifying letters, associating a sound to the corresponding letter, practicing sight words and reading pre-decodable books that will be sent home. In addition, we are doing a book-it program where your child will need to read 15 minutes a night. You will need to sign off on the monthly calendar in order to receive the personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.
In math, we will be working on patterns, counting and measuring. We will be practicing one to one correspondence while counting by pointing to each object and assigning it the correct number. You can practice these skills with your child at home using random household objects. |
