Welcome to the World of Resource!
I have been a Special Educator for 12 years, 10 years in Baltimore County. I have been teaching at Stoneleigh Elementary for nine years. I transferred to Pinewood Elementary for one year to start a new program for student's with Asperger Syndrome. My background includes working with students' with Autism, Down Syndrome, Language disorders and Learning Disabilities. I have experience with teaching various reading and math programs,as well as using specific technology programs to enable disabled students to learn to their full potential.
My role is to support students who need the extra support in the general education classroom. I assist teachers in identifying and assess students who may learn differently from their classmates. I collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and provide an educational program that will meet these students needs. Students are given extra support within their classroom. I try to challenge each child as they work toward meeting their specific learning goals.
On a personal note, I am married, with two daughters. We love going to the beach whenever we can! I am currently working on a second Master's Degree from U of MD in the area of Science, Technology, and Math.
