Homework:
Every day your child will receive math homework as well as reading/spelling. The math homework consists of a worksheet that reinforces the new concept learned in school that day. Your child will receive a spelling list on Monday (or the first school day of the week) and be tested on Friday. On Thursdays the children should be given a practice test by an adult using the page set up in the spelling notebook.
In addition, a book report will be assigned once a month. The report will usually be due by the end of the week. If a longer, more detailed report is assigned, then your child will be given more time to complete his/her report.
Please check take home folders and student planners daily. Homework and other communication will be written in the planners. Student planners are to be signed by a parent/guardian and brought back to school each day. School work and miscellaneous papers are sent in take home folders. Folders should also be returned each day. Your cooperation and participation makes a world of difference to your children.
