Independent Reading Projects Elementary1 LeftNav Right Border

Independent Book Projects
Throughout the year, your child will be expected to complete four independent reading projects. One project will be assigned each quarter.

The projects will include a written summary, an oral presentation, and an assigned craft that relates to the story.

Assignment dates, expectations, crafts, and summary formats will be presented in reading class for each quarterly assignment.

Students are expected to read books at a 4th grade level or at their current ability level. All books must be approved by one of the fourth grade teachers.

1st quarter- Due Tuesday, October 28th
Genre-Realistic Fiction

Craft- Diorama (shoebox display of a scene from the book)
