| Homework is scheduled Monday-Thursday except in the event of a holiday or special event. The children are expected to read for 20 mins. nightly and to practice math facts for 10 mins. nightly. Spelling homework is assigned on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Monday is alphabetical order, Tuesday is to write any six spelling words each in a sentence, and Thursday's assignment varies in addition to studying for Friday's weekly test. On Wednesday science or social studies homework will be assigned in some format. There is generally homework assigned in mathematics Monday-Thursday. Tests are given in each discipline and study guides are provided approximately a week ahead of time. Periodically, long range reading assignments are given highlighting a particular genre with a minimum of three weeks advanced notice. |
