Reading Letter Naming Fluency Game We have been asking children to name as many letters as they can, uppercase and lowercase randomly mixed, within one minute. This game may be played at home. The only things that you will need are a list of random letters (write them on a sheet of paper) and a stop watch or use the minute hand on a standard clock. You will see that your child loves a challenge and it is a fun way to name letters.
Phoneme Segmentation Fluency Give your child a word. Ask your child to say the individual sounds that make up the word. For example, say cat, and your child should say /c/ /a/ /t/. Keep a record of how many word sounds that were correct and discuss the total with your child. Don't forget to go over the letter sounds that he/she missed. |
