My name is Lisa Bowen and I am the full-time Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) at Middleborough Elementary. This is my twenty-fifth year in Baltimore County Public Schools and my twelfth at Middleborough. I received my B.S. and M.S. Degrees from Towson State University. I have worked with children from two years of age through high school. I am proud to say that I have worked in the Southeast area for my entire career! My related experiences include providing speech and language services to a variety of students, consultation with parents and teachers in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to plan and implement a program to best meet the child’s needs. I am qualified to screen, assess, diagnose, and provide treatment to children with communicative handicaps. I work with the children in a variety of settings including my speech therapy room, the child's classroom, or environments within the school building. On a personal note, I am a single mother of an nine-year-old girl who is in the fourth grade at Pot Spring Elementary School. My daughter is an avid soccer and softball player, so we’re on the road to and from practice and games a lot. I love watching the kids play and am quite a loud “Soccer Mom”. Children are certainly a special gift to be treasured! |
