Reading Updates:
Theme 2 Test will be given over 3 days. It will begin on Tuesday Nov. 3rd and end on Nov.5th. I am aware that there are alot of illnesses circulating, however, if students are not in attendance the day of the test they will still be expected to complete it upon their return. All missed work possible will be sent home.
* We are entering the national handwriting competition. Please encourage your child to use their best print and keep practicing at home.
* Keep working hard to log those reading minutes. All students should be reading for at least 15 minutes a day. You may count articles and readings that come home for homework.

Field Trips
Look where we are heading!!!
This year, the second grade will be taking three field trips. The first will be to Herr' Potato Chip Factory in mid October. Then April 19th our class will take off to Camp Puhtok for the day.
* We will need 5 parents to train as volunteers for Camp Puhtok, we will draw two of those five names to attend the day of the trip. Please email if you are interested in attending.
-Finally we will end our year with a day trip to the Baltimore Zoo on May 28th. All parents are able to attend this trip. The more the merrier, however only two parents will be able to ride on the bus.
* Parent volunteers will be needed for all of these trips. Please contact me if you are interested in helping out.
