Got Technology?
I am a Technology Integration Teacher AT Prettyboy Elementary and Fifth District Elementary. This year I was introduced to the BCPS 23 things challenge and won a digital recorder to start podcasts with students. I also tried out lots of cool sites using the WEB 2.0 tools such as Voicethread, Wordle, Zohowriter, MakebeliveComixs and more. You can see samples of students work and some of my photography( a hobby) on my voice thread.
We used the SmartBoard and the video camera to keep work in the computer lab engaging.
Experience
I have been teaching in Baltimore County for 31 years. The last ten years, I have presented at MICCA. Last year I presented a session called "Using Pixie in the Classroom." I shared many student designs and creations using Pixie. I was amazed at the potential that even kindergarten students display! This Year I presented the newer version PIXIE 2. I also taught a workshop for teachers. Students were able to create, write stories and poetry, work with Math arrays, Geometry, Fractions and even design themes to enter the Doodle4Google Contest. This version has it all!

MICCA Winner K-2 graphics
Emma Charles won the graphic arts contest from Prettyboy Elementary School this year. Her title was called "Honoring Our Soldiers."
Many students designed very creative work in PIXIE 2. Other work samples can be seen in the link to my voicethread.
