Kindergarten chooses one book each week to keep in their classroom or to take home at the discretion of their classroom teacher.
First grade may select one book each week as long as they return their books.
Second graders may select up to two books each week so long as they return their books each week.
Third, fourth and fifth graders may select up to three books each week as long as they return their books each week. If fourth and fifth graders are working on a special project they may borrow the books for an extended time and increase the amount of books they borrow not to exceed the number of their grade level.
Students are aware of their responsibility for the books they borrow. All students and parents signed a Book Care Pledge at the beginning of the year acknowledging the responsibilities that accompany the privilege to borrow a book.
