Hello!
We have had a successful first few months! Thanks to all of you for helping with homework and sight words.
In reading, we are practicing naming letters as quickly as we can. We are also learning beginning sounds and matching letter sounds to letter names.
We are also learning about word families. Ask your child about them. Please continue to read to your child nightly and complete the Book It! monthly.
In math, we are learning about patterns. Continue to reinforce numbers. Practice identifying numbers, making sets for numbers, and writing numbers.
In writing, we are learning how to write our last names. In our journals, we are learning that we can write our thoughts down. We are also using our "spaceman" spacers to put spaces between our words.
