Welcome to our class website. I am very excited to be teaching the third grade this year at Middlesex! For those of you who don't know me, here is some information about myself so that you can get to know me a little better. I grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee with a loving and supportive family. I have an older sister, Somer, and a younger brother, Nate. I love to dance: ballet, jazz, tap, and acrobatics! I have danced since I was 6 all the way through college and graduate school. As my students know; I still dance in the classroom! I am a graduate from the University of Tennessee(Go Vols!) where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in Child Psychology. I then moved to Maryland and got a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Towson University. I am now working towards an Administration Certificate of Advanced Study and my PhD.
I absolutely love teaching! This year will be full of exciting challenges and experiences. It is my goal to help your child be successful in school and to become a more responsible and independent learner. I am a firm believer that parent involvement is key in your child’s success. I feel that parent/teacher communication is extremely important. It is my hope that you will be an active participant in your child’s school experience. With everyone working together, I know that this will be a great year!
