Nurturing Musical Inteligence Email me Vocal music is for all students, kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Students study the five basic elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, form and tone color in the music classroom with a goal of learning to read and perform basic music notation. All students sing, move, play instruments, and listen to a variety of musical styles. The music room at CVE includes the Yamaha Music in Education keyboards that allow opportunities for students understand use of technology in music as well as provide "hands on" lesson activities. Our music program demonstrates the inclusive philosophy of CVE by arranging field trips for all students to attend concerts by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Also, all kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade and fifth grade students participate in a musical performance concert every year. Second and third graders perform a concert every other year. These programs range from traditional choral performances to full scale musical theatrical productions. |
