If your student is starting to struggle with Spanish, please let your student's teacher know. He/She should be reviewing their information at least 5 minutes a day in addition to completing his/her homework for class. We are available in the mornings for any tutorial assistance. If your student is missing work, he/she can make it up at home and return it to me the next day. If it is a quiz, he/she can see us during homeroom to make it up. |

Any questions, please feel free to email us agrant@bcps.org; creier@bcps.org We know many of you will hear procedures, procedures, procedures on the first day of school. Well, we're sorry to tell you, that's not what we're going to be teaching on the first day. Here are our procedures:
Official Classroom Procedures- 1) Attendance: Students coming to class late must have a pass. Unexcused lateness will result in a (1) warning, (2) a phone call home, and (3) a morning detention. 2) Drills: Students are required to complete a drill everyday at the beginning of class. It is the student's responsibility to organize and maintain his/her drills. Drill quizzes will be unannounced. Note: If the student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to ask a classmate for the missing drill(s). All 7th grade Spanish students will have the same drills (you have 300 people to ask for missing drills...no excuses!!). (3) Homework: Assignments should be copied into the student planner upon finishing the drill. Homework may be assigned nightly during the week. Weekends are always homework free! (4) Late Work: Homework and class assignments must be turned in on time to receive full credit. Anything turned in after the due date will be considered late and will receive partial credit. (5) Make-Up Work: Missed work due to an excused absence must be made up within the same number of days missed. Missed quizzes and tests must be made up within a week following the absence (again, you have 300 people you can ask about missed work). (6) Coach class: Is available for both Sra. Grant and Srta. Reier's students. Students must make an appointment with their teacher. Coach class will be held in the morning only.

| Scene from our Hostal (yes, that's how it's spelled) |
|
(It's all in a name) Make sure you write your names on all of your papers! Get into this habit early. We can't even begin to tell you how many students have told us they have submitted an assignment, but it's listed as missing. We direct them to the bin for their class and they find their paper with NO NAME, MOD __ written on it. Their usual response is, "Oh, I didn't put my name on it." |
