Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
Welcome back to another school year. I hope your summer was restful and enjoyable.
Our reading department has planned a very exciting year of reading for each student. During the school year students will be responsible for completing an independent book review/report. Students will be able to choose from a variety of products for completing their exciting projects. I will be sending more information home in advance of these projects, which will be due in the spring. All students will read at least two "Black Eye Susan Award," books.
As a teacher of reading, I believe that parents are the single most influential factor when comes to a child reading every night. I am asking that we partner together to ensure that your child benefits from the wonderful reading materials, reading resources, and integrated technology, which will be made available to him/her this year.
I am looking forward too working with you and your child during the school year. I look forward to meeting with you on "Back to School Night."
