Welcome to 6th grade science!
Welcome sixth grade scientists! I want to start off by telling you how excited I am about this upcoming school year. Together we will learn some amazing things. Academic Science students have four major science units in 6th grade, which are listed below.
1. Chemistry Skills
2. Electricity, Magnetism & Energy
3. Earth/Space
4. The Environment & You
Students in the Gifted and Talented program will work their way through the following units:
1. Introduction to Gifted and Talented Science
2. Electricity and Magnetism
3. Heredity
4. Interactions of the Hydrosphere and Atmosphere
Most incoming sixth graders have never had science as a full year subject, so I expect that this will be an exciting transition for you to make. You will learn so many new and interesting facts and concepts about the world that we live in. I hope that you are as excited as I am about your upcoming year in science.
