Concerts give students the ideal opportunity to publicly demonstrate their achievement in a supportive environment. Concerts are the original performance assessments and showcase the dedication and musical growth of our music students. All students are expected to attend our concerts. The dates were announced in August, and performance attendance is a large part of each student’s grade. The concerts are held at Hereford High School. Required Concert Attire
Music Shirt Order Form
Starting with the 2008 – 2009 school year, all Hereford Middle music ensembles will use the same concert attire. Each student will be required to wear ankle length or longer black pants, dark socks, and dark non-athletic shoes (no flip-flops) and the HMS music shirt we are having made specifically for this purpose. These polo shirts will be embroidered with “Hereford Music” and remain the same for your child’s time at HMS. The cost of the shirts is $12.00. Each student only needs one shirt, but you may order as many as you like. If this poses a problem for your family, please feel free to contact the guidance department or one of the music teachers.

Winter Concert – December 10th (This concert will be held at HHS.)
•6:00 p.m. Warm-up, 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. Concert – 6th Blue Band, 8th Band, Steel Band
•7:45 p.m. Warm-up, 8:15 - 9:00 p.m. Concert – 6th Silver Band, 7th Band, Jazz Band
Spring Concert – May 14th (This concert will be held at HHS.)

Concert Preparation Suggestions
Plan to arrive at Hereford High School 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled warm-up time. This will reduce stress for the performer and his or her family.
Students, make sure that you have the proper concert attire two to three weeks before the concert date. Clothing that fit at our last concert may not still fit. Dress for success: For band, this means wearing clothing that fits well. Clothes should accommodate proper playing position without restricting proper posture or breathing.
