| Solo & Ensemble |
This music festival provides band students with the opportunity to perform a solo and/or an ensemble and have their performance critiqued by an adjudicator. In accepting this challenge, each student must be willing to spend a minimum of thirty minutes a day practicing his or her Solo & Ensemble music. Please note that these thirty minutes of practice is in addition to the normal, class practice requirements.
1. You must be an instrumental music student in 7th or 8th grade.
2. Anyone playing a solo will need to play scales and must have someone accompany them on piano. You are responsible for providing your own accompanist.
3. All soloists and ensemble members must meet with Mr. Bennett several times after school prior to the event to rehearse.
4. You must have your forms and other information returned before the due date.
5. You must purchase your own music.
Solo and Ensemble Festival is a great deal of work, but it is also a great deal of fun. This festival will provide you with an opportunity to play music that we are normally unable to perform in band and orchestra class. Please feel free to call or email Mr. Bennett if you have any questions. |
