All of Mrs. Kenton's students are expected to take an active role in their education and in her classroom. This will require them to follow classroom and lab procedures, follow safety instructions, complete their classwork to demonstrate their science learning, complete daily and project homework assignments and participate in class discussion and activities.

On this page you will find specific information regarding classwork and homework and assessment expectations, as well as, grading procedures.


Work Like a Scientist!


Classwork counts as 50% of a student's science grade!

Classwork consists of:
Daily drills
Investigations
Group activities
Journaling
Class discussion





Homework counts as 20% of a student's science grade. Homework assignments consist of:


-Daily Assignments
-Project Assignments


*Daily Assignments are assigned almost every day and will be due at the beginning of the next class meeting.
*Project Assignments (such as TIPS) will be assigned during one week and due the next.




Assessments count as 30% of a student's health grade.

Assessments consist of a variety of testing techniques designed to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills of the science content being taught.






Students, who have missed health work due to an illness, should make up their work as soon as possible and turn it into Mrs. Kenton. No points will be deducted if the work is completed in a timely manner.

You can submit any Late Work or Make Up work to Mrs. Kenton electronically by using the Late Work and Make Up Work link above and attaching your document to your message.






Students who do not handed in an assignment on the day it is due have an opportunity to turn the assignment in late, but they will be deducted one point for each day the assignment is late.

Students who need to make up classwork due to an absence, or student's who require additional help with a specific topic can attend coach class with Mrs. Kenton.

These coach classes take place during lunch almost any day of the week. Students should ask Mrs. Kenton for a coach class pass prior to the day they wish to have coach class. Students may also choose to email Mrs. Kenton a request for a coach class by using the Coach Class link above

Any student with a lunch coach class pass will be asked to bring their lunch with them to Mrs. Kenton's room and work while they eat.
