3). Assessment = 30%

MISSING ASSIGNMENTS:
Homework
If an assignment is turned in on time, the student will receive a grade of A, B, C, D, or E, depending on the quality of his or her work.

If an assignment IS NOT turned in on time:
1). The student will sign the MISSING
ASSIGNMENT LOG and fill out a late
assignment slip which must be signed
by a parent or guardian.

2). An "mi" or missing assignment grade
will be entered into the gradebook by
the teacher. This grade has a value
of 0% or a letter grade of E.

3). If the assignment is turned in before
the next assessment AND the missing
assignment slip is signed by a parent
or guardian, the assignment will be
graded and the final grade will be
divided by 2. This grade will remain
for the rest of the marking period.

4). If the assignment IS NOT turned in by
the next assessment, the missing
assignment "mi" grade will be
changed to a 0%, or a letter grade of
E, which will remain for the rest of
the marking period.

*** With rare exception, homework is assigned every class night (including weekends).

PLANNING PERIODS:
A-Day - Period 1
B-Day - Period 3

NOTE *** Parent phone calls are only returned during school hours, I do not make school-related calls from home.
SCIENCE COACH CLASS:
Einstein
Coach class is available upon request at a mutually agreed time between both parent or guardian and the teacher. It is meant to help the student get "back on track", by reviewing the previous weeks' material. Coach class IS NOT a review of basic science skills or long-term private tutoring. Students should come prepared with specific questions and all necessary materials.

Coach class is from 3:00 p.m. until 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Any student who wishes to attend coach class must have a signed note from a parent or guardian at least one class period prior to the scheduled coach class. A signed note from a parent or guardian is an indication that transportation has already been arranged. Students should be picked up at 3:20 p.m. at the bus loop at the front of the school building. If a student is not picked up by 3:30 p.m. they will be escorted to the main office to wait for their parent or guardian.
