| Hanging from the "party tree" at the Lord of the Rings set in New Zealand. |
A little bit about me... Why did I become a teacher? - So that I could inspire in others the same love for reading, writing, and communicating. What are some of my favorite books? -Lord of the Rings, Teaching a Stone to Talk, Mists of Avalon, Frankenstein, Beowulf, The Invisible Man, Ahab's Wife What is my academic and professional background? I earned my Bachelor's in English literature at SUNY Oswego and my Master's in education at SUNY Albany. I continue to take classes to advance my education. I was certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in 2005 and recognized by the College Board to teach AP English Literature and Composition during the nationwide audit in 2007. I am currently pursuing an additional Master's degree from Towson University in Library Media Studies.

| A geothermal lake in Rotorua, New Zealand. |
What are some of my interests? Well, as you can guess by the pictures, I love to travel. In the summer of 2005 I toured Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia. I especially enjoy geothermal areas or historically significant locations. Next on my list are Italy and Egypt! The summer of 2006 I went skydiving in the Finger Lakes region of New York and can't wait to do it again. I also enjoy reading and writing in my free time and participate in several book clubs. I recently gave birth to a son last Spring and am the proud Mom of two - our most recent trip was to San Francisco this past summer. |
