Welcome to grade 8 English and grade 7 Reading
The goal of my English classes is to improve student's writing and reading skills. There is an extensive amount of writing in my English classes coupled with a great variety of reading. We will read short stories, poems, plays, and novels. We will learn what it takes to become a great writer!
The goals for my reading students is to make them better readers by incorporating a variety of skills each time they read. There will be a great amount of reading each day. You can't become a better reader if you don't practice at it every day! |

Mrs. Holt has been teaching Reading and English classes at General John Stricker Middle School for 8 years. She has worked with Student Council and the Literary Magazine while at Stricker. Mrs. Holt recently earned her master's degree in Reading at Towson University. She currently teaches a writing class at Towson U. and also teaches at the Maryland Student Writer's Workshops in the summer. |
